Certifications & Standards
PetroHab™ products are independently certified to the most rigorous international standards governing equipment for use in explosive atmospheres and hot work environments.
Why Certification Matters in Hazardous Environments
In Zone 1 and Zone 2 classified areas, certification is not a formality — it is the difference between a safe operation and a catastrophic incident. Every PetroHab™ product is designed and tested to meet or exceed the standards that safety managers, engineers, and regulatory bodies rely on. Our certifications are issued by independent third-party bodies, not self-declared.

Our Certifications in Detail
ATEX
ATmosphères EXplosibles
EU Directive 2014/34/EUScope
Equipment for explosive atmospheres
ATEX is the European Union directive governing the manufacture and use of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. PetroHab's Safe-Stop™ Safety Shutdown System is third-party certified to the ATEX standard, confirming it meets the essential health and safety requirements for equipment used in Zone 1 and Zone 2 classified areas.
Why It Matters for Your Operations
Required for operations in EU member states and widely accepted as a global benchmark for explosive atmosphere equipment.
IECEx
IEC System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres
IEC 60079 SeriesScope
International explosive atmosphere equipment
IECEx is the international certification system administered by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IEC 60079 series is widely recognized as the most important standard governing equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres. PetroHab's Safe-Stop™ SSS is certified to IEC 60079-13:2017 — the latest version of the pressurized rooms standard — making it the only shutdown system of its kind with this certification.
Why It Matters for Your Operations
Accepted in over 50 countries. Preferred by major international oil and gas operators for global project compliance.
IEC 60079-13:2017
Explosive Atmospheres — Pressurized Rooms
Latest Revision — 2017Scope
Pressurized rooms standard
IEC 60079-13:2017 is the international standard specifically governing pressurized rooms and enclosures used in explosive atmospheres. PetroHab's Safe-Stop™ SSS is the world's only shutdown system certified to this latest version of the standard. This certification is issued by an independent third-party certification body and confirms that the Safe-Stop SSS meets all requirements for automatic monitoring and shutdown in pressurized welding habitats.
Why It Matters for Your Operations
The definitive standard for pressurized welding habitat safety systems. Compliance is increasingly required by major operators and regulatory bodies worldwide.
ANSI/FM 4950
American National Standard for Welding Blankets
Panel Material CertificationScope
Fire-retardant panel material
All PetroHab™ panels are manufactured from U.S.-made premium silver/gray silicone coated fiberglass cloth that is certified to ANSI/FM 4950. This material is capable of withstanding continuous temperatures of 1,000°F (over 500°C), with vermiculite pads rated to 1,500°F. The ANSI/FM 4950 certification confirms the fire-retardant properties essential for safe hot work enclosures.
Why It Matters for Your Operations
Provides assurance to safety managers and procurement teams that panel materials meet recognized fire-retardant performance standards.
